Danielle Unger

BISEXUAL YOUTH SONNETT

I of the middle of the spectrum

midsexual or multisexual.

Inherent my desire to question

the meaning of my early arousal

to Venus of my father’s filched Playboys

and angelic Robert from home ec class.

Mom said you seem like the type to you know

experiment. Eyebrows raised expectant.

All while ewwing queer kissing on TV,

she adamantly denied bigotry.

A space instructive of sex, nuance, and

possibility was myth to me. These

mixed signals cooling me to exclusion.
